House prices in Markham continued to soar in May as tight market conditions continue. The average sold price for a home sold in May was $834,534 while the average sold price for a detached home was a whopping $1,080,924.
Total sales and available inventory are up considerably compared to last year and the market has been extremely active. Bidding wars and multiple offers still seem to be the norm at the moment as competition remains quite high.

Markham Real Estate Sold Statistics During May 2015
- The average sale price in May was $834,534. Up 12.8% over the same month last year.
- The average sale price to date this year is $793,631. Up 12.1% over last year.
- The average time it took for a house to sell was 14 days compared to 14 days the month prior and 16 days last May.
- There were 634 total sales last month. Up 16.8% over the same period last year.
- So far this year, we have seen 2218 sales. That’s up 11.7% over the same timeframe from last year.
- There were 1085 new listings last month. That’s an increase of 21% and a sale to new listing ratio of 58.4%
- The month prior, the sale to new listing ratio was 66.6%
- So far this year, new listings are up 11% over the same timeframe from last year.
- The average sold price for detached homes last month was $1,080,924 with 331 homes sold.
- The average sold price for semi-detached homes last month was $663,348 with 44 homes sold.
- The average sold price for townhomes last month was $639,034 with 72 homes sold.
- The average sold price for condo apartments last month was $377,451 with 93 units sold.
