One of the most fun times of the year is here – Halloween. There are a number of fun events and happenings this Halloween in Markham and you don’t want to miss a single one of them.
Scaryfest at the Markham Museum
From October 27th until the 29th, join the ghouls and goblins at the Markham Museum for Halloween fun. Best for kids 10 and under, bring your trick or treat bag and wander the 25-acre museum grounds where you’ll encounter scary, but fun characters. There will also be a fortune teller, superhero science and a fun night of dancing at the Monster Mash Bash. Of course, wear your costume! Tickets are $8 an you can buy them online.
On October 28th from 1 to 5pm at the Community Safety Village of York Region at Bruce’s Mill Conservation Area, your entire family can celebrate Halloween for only $5 a carload. While the ghosts and goblins take over the village, your child (best for kids 12 and under) can trick or treat and check out the haunted house. There will be games and kids will learn safety tips for York Regional Police Officers. Wear your costume whether you’re a kid or a parent and enjoy!
The Whitchurch-Stouffville Museum is also hosting a fun Halloween even on October 28th from 1 until 2:30pm. For kids age three to 10, they’ll trick or treat, decorate loot bags and make a yummy Halloween treat. Again, wear your costume for the most fun. Pre-registration is required and tickets are $10 for kids and $5 for adults.
On Saturday the 28th from 12 until 4pm, youngsters can trick or treat along the streets of historic Main Street in Markham. Stores will have their doors open for kids to get their goodies, and parents can shop and get some too! There will be characters around and awards for the best costumes. This event is free.
Pumpkinland at Whittamore’s Farm
Known as the farm in the city, Pumpkinland runs from September until Halloween. Not only can you pick your own pumpkin, you can go on a wagon ride through a spooky forest, navigate the corn maze an check out all of the fun pumpkin entertainment. Farmer Frank will shoot and catapult pumpkins on weekends. If that doesn’t sound like enough, there is also a tree fort, slide, tractor track, spider web climber, jumbo pumpkin jumper, jumbo corn jumper, sand pit, farm animals, straw jumps, duckie races and a chicken show. Admission prices vary.
Halloween in Markham is definitely something to celebrate!
